Google and YouTube blocked in Tajikistan

Over the past few months a number of social media websites including Twitter, Facebook, Google and YouTube have been blocked (and in some cases, unblocked) in countries including Turkey, and Pakistan. Now Tajikistan can be added to the list.

Reports surfaced earlier last week that internet users were unable to access the video-streaming service YouTube, and now many users have found that Google, including Gmail has been blocked.Tajikistan’s communications chief put the connection issues down to “possible technical problems” but as yet both sites remain blocked or partially blocked, and no further comment has been made.

Tajikistan authorities have blocked a number of websites over the past two years including Facebook, and a number of Russian news websites, yes you’ve guessed it, blocked – due to technical problems!
It is all too easy for governments to demand that blocks be put on websites which they deem a threat to their political standing and beliefs. Countries that deny their citizens the right to voice their opinions and communicate with the outside world are taking away freedom of expression, and that is unacceptable. Period.

Luckily, there is a solution for internet users in countries like China, Pakistan and Tajikistan whose governments deny them the freedom of expression – a Virtual Private Network (VPN) – and of course, I recommend HMA! Pro VPN.

When you select a server from our vast country list, (choose a server in a country where you know the webpage is not blocked) and you’ll be surfing the net in no time at all as you should be able to – no restrictions, no blocks whatsoever.

Save money in our Summer Sale!
We’ve slashed our prices in our Summer Sale – so don’t delay, click here to grab a bargain, and keep your personal and confidential information safe from governments, protect your data when using public Wi-Fi, access blocked websites and surf the net anonymously!

Tajikistan Facts
If you are not quite sure where Tajikistan is located, well it’s bordered by Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China, and has a population of around 8 million. It is a mountainous country – in fact 97% of the country is mountainous!
  • Russian soldiers are reported to have seen the Abominable Snowman or the ‘Yeti’ in the Pamir Mountain ranges. The legend of the Yeti still exists in Tajikistan today.
  • Tajikistan is amongst the smallest nations in Central Asia, in terms of area.
  • Its domain is .tj

HMA! Tip: Receive emails anonymously and stop spam with Hide My Ass!

HMA! Pro VPN protects and encrypts all of your internet traffic by routing it through one of our servers, and of course that includes incoming and outgoing email traffic as well. But that doesn’t mean that you receive less spam when giving out your email address over the web, especially if you haven’t registered your email address anonymously.

There are a number of different ways that our anonymous email service can help you, for example:

1) You may come across a website that won’t let you view its pages until you sign up via Facebook or provide them with an email address. Many of these websites collect your details, known as email harvesting, in order to send out bulk email, aka spam!

2) You’ve scoured the internet and finally found the perfect birthday present for a friend, but when you check out, you’re asked for your email address.  Chances are you won’t be purchasing anything from that company again, so the best thing to do is give them an anonymous email address. You won’t be bombarded with their newsletters, special offers and other deals all clogging up your inbox.

3) “Sign up to our newsletter to get full access to our site!”  Sounds great, and many times, yes you do want to check out their site, but as soon as you hand over your email address,  get constant emails from them, and their partners and their partners’ partners!

Avoid website registration where you can, and use our anonymous email service. As soon as you stop using your ‘real’ email address, and start using our anonymous email account, the sooner you’ll see less spam in your inbox.

The HMA! Anonymous Email service is not just another trash-mail service as it offers much more:
  • Complete anonymity – no personal information is required to register
  • Full HTML support for displaying emails
  • Daily email alerts to your alternative email address (optional)
  • Ability to set an expiry date for the account (24h, 7d, 1/6/12m) to ensure secure deletion of account and emails
  • Stop spam by never using your real email address on shady websites again
Give it a try – over 800,000 users can’t be wrong!

Internet censorship in Iraq

Al-Qaeda in Iraq used social media channels to spread their extremist views and messages during the War on Terror.
Recently the Iraqi government blocked a number of social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, and Google, as well as Instagram and Whatsapp in a bid to halt the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIS) a group formed in April 2013 and which grew out of al-Qaeda in Iraq, from promoting their campaign of terror.
In an attempt to curb the extremist group from using social media to spread their message, the Iraqi government also requested a total block on the internet in a number of provinces. The Wall Street Journal recently reported “The Internet has been shut down in five provinces out of 19” where ISIS have made the most gains.

This decision appears to have been reversed, but ISPs have still been told to enforce bans on a number of websites. The Register recently spoke to Martin Frank CEO of IQNET, which sells internet connection services to ISPs in Iraq says “The internet is back in full capacity, with blocks removed on Facebook, Viber, Twitter and other websites. However, several sites are still blocked. These are generally news-related websites which have been critical of the government.” You can see a full list of sites blocked in Iraq here.

According to Martin Frank, a number of journalists have been on television channels showing Iraqis how to use virtual private networks (VPNs) which helps them bypass any government internet blocks.

A VPN is all you need to circumnavigate government internet censorship. When you select one of our HMA! Pro VPN servers, you are assigned a different IP address (your ISP in Iraq will be unable to detect that you are using it) and, therefore, you will be able to access any web page that your government may have blocked. It’s of utmost importance that journalists, bloggers and NGO’s are able to report the conflict currently taking place in Iraq. It’s also crucial that the Iraqi people be able to tell their stories, voice their opinions, concerns and their fears to the outside world through social platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.

For the time being, a number of social media sites are back up and running which is great news, but the question remains, for how long?

How to claim – terms of this offer
Iraqis who have new information about internet censorship in the country, will be rewarded with one month free HMA! Pro VPN. Free VPN will only be awarded if the information is published on our blog.
All existing active customers in Iraq who have an HMA! Pro VPN subscription will have one month free VPN added to their subscription, so long as the information is published on our blog.
Iraqis who have not signed up to HMA! will need to open account and one month HMA! Pro VPN will be added to their account, if their information is published on our blog.
This offer is open to those who are based in Iraq only. Our customer support will verify your location by IP address to ensure you are in the country.

Watch FIFA World Cup 2014 Online: Argentina vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Live Streaming Information

Lionel Messi has not quite set the World Cup alight with his undeniably wonderful talents. Step one Lionel Messi Argentinaof taking himself into exalted company begins with a match against Bosnia-Herzegovina as Argentina attempt to set their tilt at the 2014 World Cup title in enemy territory Brazil on the right track with three points in the most iconic stadiums of them all – the Maracana.
Where to Watch Live:
The first match of Group F is scheduled for a 7 pm local time (3.30 am IST, 11pm BST, 6 pm ET) start with live coverage on Sony Six HD and and Sony Six in India. The match can also be watched online via live streaming in India HERE. Watch the match in the UK on ITV and BBC with the live streaming option HERE or HERE. US viewers can watch the game on ESPN while you can also live stream the action HERE. Viewers in Australia can watch HERE online, while South Africa viewers can catch the match HERE.
Argentina are seen as one of the favourites to lift the title, and with a relatively easy Group F, which also involves Nigeria and Iran apart from Bosnia-Herzegovina, the South Americans should be able to negotiate through to the last 16 comfortably enough.
However, there have been enough signs at this World Cup already which has thrown conventional wisdom out of the window; Argentina, who were knocked out of the quarterfinals in the 2010 World Cup by Germany, will do well not to become the latest casualty of the growing list of upsets.
"Since this tournament has started with a heap of upsets, I am hoping for another one tomorrow," Bosnia-Herzegovina coach Safet Susic said on Saturday.
Alejandro Sabella has a ridiculous attacking lineup at his disposal, but the coach was tight-lipped about the formation or the team that would face Bosnia come Sunday.
"I will evaluate the players up until the last minute and decide who are in the best condition to face the 90 minutes," Sabella said. "We've got one more night to think about it. We've already practised one system (4-3-3) and then we did the other (5-3-2).
"But it has got nothing to do with whether you play with two or three forwards and just because you have more people in attack doesn't mean we are going to score more goals."
Argentina might have a mouth-watering array of attacking players at their disposal, but in Bosnia, they will be up against a team in tremendous attacking form as well. Bosnia-Herzegovina were the second top scorers in European qualifying, with Susic promising an attacking mind set.
"We are going to play with three attackers tomorrow and at least two attacking midfielders and two fullbacks who keep on attacking and going forward," Susic said. "This is how we play football. We can't play any other kind of football, nor do I want us to play any other kind of football."
Argentina have been a little too porous at the back of late, and the South Americans will need to be resilient at the back to stop Edin Dzeko and co. from banging a few in in Rio.
"We know that in midfield and up front we've got some great players who can change the course of games at any given time," Argentina central defender Ezequiel Garay told FIFA's official website. "That makes it a tremendous challenge for us defenders, but that's not because we're not good enough but because our teammates further forward are so good."

Team news: Argentina: Gonzalo Higuain has been struggling with an ankle problem but is expected to take the field in a three-prong attack with Messi and Sergio Aguero.

Bosnia-Herzegovina: Sejad Salihovic is an injury concern for the Europeans, but Susic does not have too many other problems.

Expected lineups: Argentina: Romero; Zabaleta, Fernandez, Garay, Rojo; Gago, Mascherano, Di Maria; Messi, Higuain, Aguero.

Bosnia-Herzegovina: Begovic; Mujdza, Spahic, Kolasinac, Salihovic; Hajrovic, Besic, Pjanic, Misimovic; Lulic, Dzeko.

Prediction: 3-2 to Argentina

The game starts at 6:00 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream via the link provided below (free for subscribers).
Argentina is looking to defeat Bosnia [and Herzegovina] to take command of Group F. Argentina has won the FIFA World Cup twice in its history in 1978 and 1986, when superstar athlete Diego Maradona led his team to the title nearly three decades ago now.

Now Argentina is trying to bring the cup back to the South American nation after being eliminated in the Quarter-Finals in two consecutive appearances tournaments in 2006 and 2010 by Germany. Lionel Messi is trying to follow in Maradona's footsteps to lead Argentina to its first FIFA title in 28 years. However Argentina's greatest player does not think Messi has anything to prove to anyone.
"Messi doesn't have to win the World Cup to be the best in the world," said Maradona. "One world title more or one less can't take anything away from anything [Messi] has achieved to be where he is today."
Before 2014, Bosnia had never qualified for the FIFA World Cup after the young country defected from the now former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1992.
Now in 2014, Bosnia is looking to make their presence known, and there would be no better way to do so than to take down one of the tournament favorites in Argentina.
The game will begin at 6 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the ESPN network or online through live stream by clicking here

One of the best attacking team in the world cup, Argentina the two time world cup winners start their campaign with a game against Bosnia in “Groud F” to be played in Rio De Jainero on Sunday night at 23:00 uk Time:

Argentina were the favourites in the last three world cups but they always came up short in the knockout stages, nwo they have a chance and a great team to back up their claim as one of the best football nation in the world. Playing in very familiar conditions of South American, Argentina has all the ingrediants and attitude to go all the way this time around. Bosnia do have some quality players in their lineup and I expect them to get through this group with Argentina.

Argentina vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Starting Lineups:

One of the favourites to lift the trophy, Argentina has the strongest strike force in the world cup. With Aguero, Messi and Di Mari you have goals coming from everywhere. While they also have the liberty to call Higuain and Rodrigo Placio from the bench. Bosnia on the other hand are no pushovers, a very tough and physical side who can lock horns with the big boys. Here is the strongest lineups of both sides.

Argentina vs Bosnia Predictions:
Argentina are a quality attacking side, Bosnia on the other hand likes to keep the shape and stay compact when defending. Its a typical attack vs defence game where Argentina will have more of the possesion abd will create more chances but Bosnia will be looking to counter attack with pace and use the tall man city target man Dzeko.
On paper it looks like an easy win for South American outfit, but I won’t be surprised If bosnia and herzegovina manage to get somthing out of this match. Having said that if Messi’s fitness levels are good I totaly expect him to take this world cup by storm. I am going with a 2-1 win for Argentina in this one.

France vs Honduras takes place on Sunday in World Cup 2014 Group E, and the former World Cup winners, France, will be looking to get their tournament off to the perfect start with three points and a win today. France will be big favorites to win this game. Even though they had a tough qualifying campaign, their opposition today has been in the World Cup twice before but has failed to record a win in either.
So for Honduras this year it will be a case of third time lucky, and they will be hoping to set off celebrations in their home country by recording a historic first World Cup victory.
Honduras coach Luis Fernando Suarez is not fazed by the task put to his team, and he is confident his team has the skills and capabilities of winning this year, and even taking down France today.
He said, "Honduras can beat France in the World Cup. But we have to work hard to arrive at the game in form."
Honduras certainly have a bit more confidence around them than they have had at previous World Cups. They qualified in CONCACAF for this year's tournament ahead of Mexico, portraying strength and organization throughout their campaign.
The South American team play a more direct route brand of football and that can cause opposition teams a lot of difficulties if they are not organized and suffer any concentration lapses.
If France are at the top of their game today they should win. But if they have a bad day or if they sit back too much then Honduras have the capabilities of causing a shock today.
France and Honduras will play in Group E with a start time of 3 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on TV on the ABC network or online through free live stream by clicking here.
